After military service, Richard earned a BS in Physics with the intention of teaching high school.  Things changed; he ended up with a graduate certificate in real estate and urban land development, living overseas 6 years, then made his wife retire to Sarasota.

He came on the board in 2018 as an At-Large Director and was appointed President at the end of 2019. 

He is on the Executive Committee of the Coalition of City Neighborhood Associations and the board member of the Newtown Community Redevelopment Agency Advisory Board.

Judith has a special interest in outreach to kids and neighborhood disaster readiness, having started outreach programs in Thailand and Houston, Tx.

Mary is our anchor, having served as an officer of Bayou Oaks longer than she will let us say. Born in Maryland, earning a BS in Pennsylvania, she moved to the neighborhood in the late '80's. 

Alex came to Sarasota in 2017 to start a virtual reality business, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience about neighborhoods from Los Angeles.

Mary Butler is also an anchor as a neighborhood leader in Bayou Oaks and Amaryllis Park and as a business woman.
